Comprehensive eye health exams
Our doctors use the latest technology to deliver comprehensive eye examinations above and beyond the standard expectations of the Optometry Board. With each medical comprehensive eye examination, they conduct a detailed evaluation of the health of your eyes, thorough vision testing, and advanced prescription assessment.
Cutting Edge Technology
During your eye health exam, you will receive a variety of tests not routinely found in all “eye exams”. The OCT-Angiography instrument can detect macular degeneration, glaucoma and many other ocular pathologies before symptoms occur. We also use Clarus Retinal Imaging to monitor retinal health. Humphrey Visual Field testing is performed along with ocular pressures and pachymetry. For contact lens wearers, a Corneal Topographer will map the surface of your cornea to enhance the fitting process. Our doctors thoroughly review all results of your exam and make sure to answer all of your questions.
Ocular Disease management
Our medical eye exams aim to detect the earliest signs of ocular diseases. If treatment is necessary, our doctors customize a plan for each patient’s individual needs. Our mission is to keep your vision as clear as possible for as long as possible. Glaucoma and other eye diseases sometimes show no visual symptoms until later stages, therefore, early detection is essential. Systemic diseases such as Hypertension, Diabetes, Arthritis, and Autoimmune Disorders also have ocular complications.

Dr. Charlene Haynes began her optometric career in 1990. She opened her own practice and Optical Salon in 1996 with the intent of providing the highest level of eye care and customer service, and offering one of the most exclusive selections of fine eyewear in San Antonio.
Due to growth and demand, in 2008 Dr. Haynes designed a new larger location allowing for the most cutting edge testing and eye care equipment as well as luxury eyewear housed in a comfortable, luxurious environment.
Dr McKinney joined the office in 2021 after practicing in San Antonio since 2015. She has expanded our services to now provide pediatric eye care, myopia management, scleral lens evaluations, and customized dry eye therapies to her existing and new patients.
